Bright at Willy Mag tomorrow 5/4/17

The bright part of this week will be playing a show tomorrow night at Williamson Magnetic, with Vivian. It will be an oasis of sorts I’m hoping, from some stressful days. We’ll be playing a new song we learned! So far it’s just called “new one” . Twelves is an such an amazing band, so it’s extra blinding bright to be playing this show with them! I’m also excited to see Maniac du Jour who came here from Italy! kinda comet like bright.  I hope to see you there! at 8pm

Lightening night

Thank y’all for coming to the High Noon Saloon on Wed!  What a great venue, the best sound, and what an honor to play with the German Art Students who have such fun songs and play with such talent and spirit!  I’m inspired by Annelies’ amazing acrobatics!

Here are pictures.  I included the last one to try to show you I was wearing a piece of a tree that got struck by lightening the other day, that had a hole in it just right for necklace making. I hoped it would help out! I think it did. Though Vivian Lin provided most of the awesome power.  It was a really fun show! Thanks for the photos Lisa Bushby!

at Sisters in Christ in New Orleans

After I left New Orleans, I visited family and was very distracted by energetic nieces and nephews, so I’m late posting about this and the Glassmen show story is now out of order, but I think it’s probably good to confuse time sometimes.

I loved the show at Sisters in Christ in New Orleans March 12!  It was fun for me because my friend from where I grew up (Shreveport) Kern Courtney played in the show with me.  Also, my brother was there, and friends who I hadn’t seen in a long time were there, and some friends from Madison were there as part of our road trip.  Also, it was fun to have poetry readings from Jo Gehringer and El Pearson to make a thoughtful and expansive kind of show.  Sisters in Christ is a really cool space.  I loved the atmosphere, there were a lot of great people, and I loved playing acoustic for a change.  Thank y’all for being a great crowd and thanks Sisters in Christ!

Thanks to Ian for the photo!

Yeast by Sweet Beast 2017

Yeast by Sweet Beast in Austin was really fun! I’m so lucky that Vivian was in town already for SXSW, so she could join me on the drums. Also Janelle, Erik and Lisa B were there from Madison as part of our grand road trip, which was fun and helpful and special. There were cool lights during our set by Paul, including some flying birds during “For the Crows” and other songs. I really wish I could have stayed for the whole festival, but I’m happy to have seen the music I did see that night! Ganjisland with Lisa Cameron’s really cool invented instrument, Jibber and Twitch and MC Terroristic were all awesome. And Michael was a great sound person. I’m so lucky and glad that we got to be part of the festival. Thanks Anne Heller and Lisa Cameron!

at house of Exxon in Shreveport, LA

I love this photo by David Nelson! I had a great time playing at Exxon House in Shreveport. It was special to play a show with my long time friend Kern Courtney  and in the city I grew up in.  It was another night of a super and  varied music. I feel lucky. Thanks Exxon House, Kern, Tiny Alive, and  Mr. Christopher and everyone for being there!
